One of the touristic draws for Metz is this Cathedral, and rightly so. It looms above everything around it, making it seem like something out of a fairy tale. The stone work is intricate and impressive. But what I loved the most was the stained glass.

When I walked in, the cathedral looked like any other I had ever wandered into. But I quickly became aware that the stained glass was different. I wondered why they installed such modern pieces when the majority seemed more traditional. But the more I looked around, the more I realized just how many different styles of stained glass were there! They have collected stained glass from many different eras, making this cathedral unique. It boasts one of the oldest collections of stained glass in the world!

This is truly a special place and worth a visit while you are there.
